The song started with a romance that never really amounted to much. But isn't it interesting how much some people can influence your thoughts and wants and needs from so far away. I mused on the song while chatting with Georgi from the band Krekhaus, had some more ideas while visiting Sinemorets on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, where the mountain, sea and river do, in fact, meet.
Then I started singing it at gigs. That's the version you hear on my third album "The Lost Songs".
But at one gig - a jam style gig at the now closed Art Hostel in Sofia - I started playing the chords and singing the chorus. The brilliant Mitko Gorchakov and Pavel Terzisky picked up on it and started taking it to greater heights. I started improvising new lyrics based on that same idea. I was about to take off on a flight and part of me didn't want to go.
Anyway, it was magic the way it came together. Glad we could get together in the studio to recreate it for you :)
